- 5 / 5By John Eyberg aka Juanito Hayburg aka BIKERJOHNThis is a number one stop for me when pedaling to or from Las Cruces on the 5-star, World-class NM478/Main Street; it's broad relatively uncluttered shoulders (except for a short 3miles/5kms North of AnthonyNM, which will soon be remedied by NMDOT) facilitating bicycle traffic. Anyway, Simons is open early to mid-adternoon 7 days/week (except for major holidays) and has excellent food. So far, my main meal there has been classic menudo, with coffee & home-made chocolate milk. Since I'm pedaling, I can't get enough of that inherit energy component, whether pedaling non-stop North to the city of the crosses for camping in Old Mesilla, the Recycled Roadrunner or inside a room at Motell 6; OR back home to El Paso, taking Anthony Gap pass, Transmountain pass, Anyway,, this delightful stop is always a welcome respite from possible headwinds or simply a break from the slow push on my Doublevision. They certainly have my ""Wheel of Approval"!February 06, 2017
